’17 Ferrari California T Handling Speciale | CQuartz Finest Reserve
This California T is equipped with the Handling Speciale Package which gives you a stiffer suspension, sportier exhaust tone, transmission timing tweaks and a few appearance styling cues that you can’t find on the standard California T. Adorned in Tour de France Blue, our customer wanted to keep his new Ferrari looking at it’s best for many years to come. We performed several detailing services we offer such as our New Car Prep, CQuartz Finest Reserve ceramic paint coating, CQuartz Professional wheel coating and Opti-Guard leather coating. Each vehicle is initially washed and clayed before the polishing process begins. After it has been properly prepped, we tape off all trim pieces to avoid polishing residue to be left over. Most of the time we will clean the full interior as well but we waited on this California because it is receiving an interior coating. The coating calls for a deeper cleaning before the coating is applied so we will hold off on that for now.
We have a special polishing process geared towards new vehicles specifically. The process includes a 1-step paint correction to remove any surface contaminants and light swirls/scratches. This polish is necessary to bring the paint up to its best possible condition before the coating is applied. It wouldn’t make much sense to apply the coating over an unprepared surface with imperfections in it, now would it?
Our customer wanted the best coating we had to offer. That would be CQuartz Finest Reserve! This coating has a life expectancy of 3 – 5 years and highest gloss / gloss retention of any other coating on the market. Every inch of the painted exterior surface is covered with the ceramic coating. As you can see in the image below, the coating will “flash” whenever it has been applied to the vehicle. Multiple coats are applied to each vehicle and there are curing processes in between each layer so this is a very time consuming process.
Each wheel is carefully removed from the vehicle and thoroughly cleaned to remove all debris / contaminants from the wheel surfaces. We then applied the coating to the wheel faces, barrels and brake calipers. Adding a ceramic coating to your wheels will help repel brake dust, dirt, and water. Another benefit of having a coating on your wheels would also mean less time spent cleaning them. If you have a crazy designed wheel with many spokes and hard to reach barrels, this could be very beneficial to you!
There was no surface we did not touch on the inside of this Ferrari! The leather dash, leather door panels and front / rear leather seats had to be thoroughly cleaned to remove any contaminants / oils that may have built up on the surface before we applied the coating. Since the California T has a retractable hard top, it was an excellent idea for our customer to proceed with the interior coating. Not only will the coating give it a long lasting sheen but it will also protect his precious leather interior from harmful UV rays, cracking, color transfer and stains.
