Twice a year, Shine Auto Salon, is the premier sponsor for WannaGoFast Heavens Landing 1/2 Mile Race. With our ability to be a 1-Stop shop facility, 1/2 mile races are our best events. With each passing event, our presence at these events gets bigger and bigger. This is because our customers love us and continue to help our business grow. This is also because with each event we have more and more of our customers wanting to join us. This year, we had one of our best set ups yet. With 3 Dodge Vipers, 3 Lamborghini’s, 1 Ferrari 458, 1 McLaren 675LT, 1 C7 Z07, a 1400hp S550 Mustang, a crazy fast Saturn Ion, a complete show Mitsubishi Evo and Acura RSX, our shop BMW M4 and many other customers who kept showing up and wanting to park with us. Even had our friends at Palmer Dodge, who wanted to bring a few cars with them, to park with us at the event. It was an amazing event for our customers to hang out, talk to us about future projects and just generally have a great time. Even though the weather did not cooperate on Sunday, causing the event to be rained out on, Friday night and Saturday was still a great time. Follow along through the pictures below to see how things went on Friday and Saturday.
As always, with the mass amount of vehicles that goes with us, we head up on Friday to set up for the event.
Our friends from BoostWorks out in Texas, brought their shop car to us for detailing prior to the event. Plus to run with us. They know their way around some Ford motors as this Mustang makes north of 1300 horsepower.
What would also be one of our events without our shop mascot Cliff.
With everything being set up, as much as we can on Friday, the next stop was the cabin. With these events we like to rent out a cabin to take care of our staff and as many of our customers as we can accommodate. This gives us the opportunity to thank our customers for their dedication and our staff for the hard work.
Race Day, Saturday! With Saturday the first day of racing, it is time to be at the track bright and early. Man of our customers could not make it up till Saturday, so we had to plan to get them parked in their designated area. We also need to finish getting everything set up, as many customers show up and this event draws 3000-4000 people per day. Need to look your best!
Some of our customers even own cars built by other shops. We do not discriminate. They are still more than welcome with them. Two of them were previously built by UGR.
While the event is running, we like to have space for people to sit and customers to hang out at. No event would be complete without the families 4 legged friends, too.
With just a little more prepping needed, it was time to make sure all the cars had their stickers on them and Shine Auto was representing correctly!
Now too the racing. Once the track warmed up and the weather was right, out we went for some fun racing. So did the rest of the world.
Before we could hit the runway, we had to make sure all the vehicles were prepped correctly and filled with the correct type of race gas.
Now to the fun part, the racing. But first you need safety equipment.
NOW its time for the GoFast part. Throughout the day, we had many of our cars running and customer cars running.
By mid day the event was packed. Even though it was extremely muggy and humid, the event was seeing much slower times than normal. Not many people were able to make full passes due to traction issues. It did not stop people from having fun though. The sponsor area was packed and every type of car too see. With many people coming by the Shine Auto set up asking questions and admiring cars, our photographer himself was able to get some very good photos.
By the end of the day, people were starting to leave out. Our photographer wanted to get some glamour shots of some of our customers vehicles.
